By managing a local artisan’s market and acting as a fellow business mentor to local entrepreneurs, I created an impact on local businesses, advocated for the economic prosperity of artists, and actively contributed to the vitality of downtown London, Ontario, Canada.
In 2011, 379 Collective partnered with Colliers International Canada to create “The Metropolitan Market” or “The Met”. The Met was a weekend artisan market in downtown London that housed local startup businesses. The market incubated businesses that continue to operate today such as Studio Kuefner, Fire Roasted Coffee, and the specialty toy store Über Cool Stuff. Together with 379 Collective partners, I helped to manage the business and the property at 140 Dundas Street. I created the branding and marketing materials and recruited new artisans to the space on a weekly basis.
As a Building Manager of The Metropolitan Market (The MET), I was responsible for working with vendors and managing all operations including lease agreements, accounting processes, marketing, cleaning, and supervising the retail space.
