Day 61 of taking a look at some of #ldnont's biggest talents in music, entertainment and the arts brings us to the incredibly creative Katie Wilhelm.
And fact is, from billboards to album covers, if you live in London you’ve seen her design work.
Katie’s passion for design started at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School where she worked on the class yearbook and began creating websites, logos, and digital art in 2004. She went on to graduate from Fanshawe College in 2009 before taking the lead local on several local arts groups, including 379 Collective, Artfusion and LondonFuse.
During this time, Katie also worked as a poster designer with #APKLive, one of her favourite gigs.
With Artfusion, Katie helped exhibit more than 5,000 pieces, working with over 500 artists over three years. Her passion also led her to work on many large-scale mural art installations, including the Steven Watson Memorial Mural in downtown London.
Prior to founding her own design practice, Katie spent several years specializing in corporate communications, specifically in the area of local economic development. Today, she manages a Graphic Design & Marketing practice, working with businesses and ‘artrepreneurs’ to bring their ideas to life.
Katie is a proud Indigenous person and currently serves on the board of directors with occupational skills development agency, Nokee Kwe.
