The Project

Antler River Trading Co. is a First Nation-owned apparel and fine collectibles business at Chippewas of the Thames First Nation and has been showcasing Indigenous art since 1986.

The business originated on the Great Lakes powwow trail and remains a pop-up store at special events and cultural venues all over Canada.

The company was looking to bring their unique trading post presence online for the first time.

The Approach

The Antler River Trading Co. website was designed to be a user-friendly e-commerce experience for its diverse audience.

The colours used were taken from the original company logo. An icon was developed from the logo to give a fresh motif to use in the company’s new online presence.

The website focuses on an invite to artists with a submission form to grow the company’s artist network.

The Result

The website was launched successfully in March 2023.

The artist network has grown since the launch, as well as apparel sales, which has helped support both the local artists and the trading post.
